Asakusa Shrine and Hanayashiki with friends...

This is the HUGE lantern adorning the entrance to Asakusa Shrine. It is literally about 20 feet high, very impressive to say the least. On this day Travis, Mia , Rhett & myself took the metro here with Maiyu and her mom Asa. They had never been to Hananyashiki Amusement Park before. Asa kept teasing me saying that I know more about Tokyo than she does (and she's lived here forever).

Travis took this artistic shot of the koi in the pond near the shrine.

Maiyu was enthralled with driving the panda bears. Travis kept Mia from crashing into Maiyu too often. He's a pretty good older brother to Mia. I've asked his mom if we can keep him, she emphatically said, "no".

Another photo from Travis. This is the kid version of a roller coaster, enough to churn my stomach.

Speaking of churning stomachs, here's Travis and Asa twirling around upside-down in a star. Not the best idea after having slushees, but fun nonetheless. Travis convinced me to go on it too, let's just say it was a close call...you can imagine the rest.
All in all, I love coming to this park. It's small, but fun for adults and kids. I know we'll be back.
