Take me out to the ballgame! Tokyo Dome.

Aaron, Travis, myself and some Amazon.com friends took in a game at the Tokyo Dome. The Tokyo Dome is much like the old Kingdome in Seattle, a huge venue for die-hard baseball fans. We watched the Tokyo Giants play the Rakatan Eagles. I didn't know any of the players, but I did notice Giant's #29, an African American guy who hit a home run and won the game for them.

Here's the view from our seats.

And what ball park doesn't need Hello Kitty baseball paraphernalia?

A true difference from American baseball, the food. From right to left you see signage for chicken skewers, balls of fried octopus, yakisoba, bowls of pork ramen and plenty of Asahi beer to wash it down with.

Speaking of beer, here's one of the beer sellers complete with a keg loaded on her back and a tap in her hand.

The fans were definitely into the game. They hoisted banners and the home bands played non-stop throughout the game. It was hard to get the songs out of your mind afterwards.

The dome was packed, we estimate 40,000 or so. Baseball Tokyo style was surely a hit!
