A couple weekends ago we went to the
Tama Zoo, known as the "grand-daddy of Japan zoos". I think this is meant to imply that it is one HUGE zoo...

This is the entrance, complete with Halloween pumpkins. We went with our friends
Miyuki, Taro and their son
Kotaro-
kun.

We had a very civilized lunch overlooking the African
Savannah animals...

By far, the crowning glory was the Lion Bus. You get on the bus and drive through the lion area...

...where the bus stops occasionally to let the lions eat the meat they have hanging off the bus!!!!
This lioness was literally 3 inches away from us as she was sinking her teeth into the fresh meat.

Mia and
Kotaro-
kun had a great time riding back to the car in the stroller. A great day had by all.
