Mike's Asia Tour...

A dear friend, Micheal Anderson, came to visit us in Tokyo yesterday. I first met him when we were both studying abroad in Nantes, France in 1992.

Then two years later we were both English teachers in France, me in Montlucon and Mike in Biarritz.

The last time we connected was in New York City in 1998.

Here he is slurping up ramen noodles at my favorite organic ramen shop.

He is now the director of the English as a Second Language (ESL) program at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul...which has over 4,000 foreign students.
He is just finishing a three week tour of promoting his program in Asia (China, Korea and Japan). He had great stories of all the wild 'n crazy food he's been eating on the trip (my favorite was the "dragon" meat he had in China, aka spicey donkey meat!!!) And did you know that in South Korea there is a Dunkin Donuts store on every street corner? Who knew???
It was so fun to see an old friend and I can honestly say that he hasn't changed a bit since we first met. I wish I still looked like a 20 year old...
Grosses bisous a Mique!
