Dianne and Duane come to town...

Baby Rhett was tickled pink to have Grandpa Duane and Nana Dianne come to visit.

We spent Mother's Day together in Hakone, Japan. We enjoyed the hotsprings there. The spa we went to is known for its novelty hotsprings. The regular spas were bubbling away: green tea, sake, coffee, sea salt, red wine, charcoal. This time we also soaked in ramen broth. The strangest was the foot bath we tried. The warm foot bath has small fish in it that attach to your feet and start cleaning them. Yikes! I shrieked out loud when one took a nibble on my toes.

My mom also brought over cans of enchilada sauce---impossible to find in Japan. To celebrate, we made a full Mexican meal for our friends. There are no Mexican restaurants in our neighborhood, so our Japanese friends were thrilled to have a little taste of Mexico.

(note: Aaron and I have eaten at a Mexican restaurant in Tokyo, only $90 for two orders of bean enchiladas and margarita a piece).

We also saw the Saint Exupery museum (author of "The Little Prince").

And Mia even took everyone to the local aquarium. She and Aaron got to pet a dolphin.

Mom and Duane, it was wonderful having you here. Please come back soon!

90 bucks for two enchiladas and two Margaritas? Must have been great Margaritas.
Bet you had a wonderful visit, Dianne and Duane.
