After the picnic, Mia thought it was high time to try a bike without training wheels--something she's seen her cousins doing for awhile now. Here she is in her 1st ever debut of biking without training wheels. Aaron & I were quite proud of her. She still needs a little work on balance, but by the end of summer she'll be a pro! Look mom, no hands!

Yoyogi Park & Children's Day---May 5th, 2007
Today is Children's Day. We headed to Yoyogi Park to meet some of Mia's friends from school for a picnic. This park is a 20 minute walk from our home. At the main entrance you can find all sorts of people. Here's Mia with a "cos-play" girl. It stands for costume play. It means that you basically choose your costume and go overboard with it. This gal liked pink and bows and loved to get her picture taken with tourists. Mia thought her outfit was very stylish and liked her puppet too.
Yoyogi Park has a cycling area to rent bikes. It even has a separate pathways for cyclists only. Mia chose a Hello Kitty bike to try out.
