Mia's last day at Matsumura Youchien

Mia's last day at her kindergarten school (youchien in Japanese) was on March 13th. The kindergarten schools here combine both preschool and kindergarten into one. Kids start at age three and graduate by age 6. Here's Mia on her first day of school, almost two years ago---April 2007.

Here she is on the first day learning where to hang her coat.

This was taken on the morning of her last day of youchien. She felt a little sad about her last day.

Here are some of her dearest friends---left to right: Karen, Mia, Aru and Hikaru.

Luckily, Rhett will be able to start Matsumura Youchien this coming April 15th. I am so thankful that they are letting him join, even though he's not 3 yet. They made an exception to the rule, as we are moving home to Seattle in July. The teachers wanted him to have a chance to go to a Japanese school.

Thank you Matsumura for all of the wonderful memories. We will never forget you!
