Ski bunnies--Nozawa Onsen

We just got back today from a three day ski trip to Nozawa Onsen. This was a breakthrough trip for us all...especially Mia-chan. She took to the slopes and never looked back. She was in ski class for full days, a first for her. At one point, Aaron & I were at the top of the mountain and we looked down and saw Mia in her ski class. We couldn't believe our eyes.

Happy in the sun and snow.

Ditto.

Back at the lodge, Mia showing us some of her "racing" moves.

Although Rhett couldn't join ski lessons yet, he was quite happy playing on the slide with his dad.

And digging a few "igloos".

This was our routine mode of transportation.

Here is a little German girl named Lara. Her family happened to be staying next to us at the lodge. She and Mia were fast friends and enjoyed all their ski lessons together. Nothing like having a friend on the ski slopes.

We took the magic carpet from the ski hill into town. The town of Nozawa has made a name for itself due all of it's natural hot springs. Soaking after a day of skiing was our family's favorite past time.

Mia being stiff as a board as she spans the railings of the escalator. Must be nice to have those abs!

We loved it so much that we hope to get back there soon! Thanks Nozawa Onsen and our lodge Pension Schnee.

What fun! How is it that you have snow clothes with you in Japan?
